What Happens After
an HIV Test?

No matter the test result, there are options for you. Although there is no cure for HIV, there are modern medicines to treat HIV and options to help prevent it, too. Talk to a doctor about options that are right for you.

Moving Forward With
Your HIV Care

Being sure of your HIV status through routine HIV testing is an important part of your self-care. When you know your status, you can talk to a doctor to discuss the best HIV care or appropriate prevention options for you.

If your test results are positive, you may have a lot of questions and emotions. Know that you are not alone. There are many resources for you; find some here.

And remember, taking treatment is one of the best ways to care for yourself.

Together, we can help put an end to HIV once everyone knows their status and is connected to the right options for them.
